Profiles taken from Wikipedia
Ichigo Kurosaki:
Ichigo is a 15-year-old who attempts to cultivate a detached image, for which he keeps his eyebrows constantly furrowed and his mouth always in a scowl. However, he is revealed to be kinder and more intelligent under the surface than his appearance and attitude would suggest. Ichigo has natural orange hair, a fact that annoys many upperclassmen in his school who constantly pick fights with him. Ichigo claims that he does not care what others think (about his hair and other subjects) and seems to enjoy fighting the bullies.
Rukia Kuchiki:
Initially born into a lower class, Rukia retains her modesty even as an adopted member of the nobility: she is graceful and "clean", yet chooses to talk to ordinary people. Although she tells Ichigo that she is nearly ten times older than he, she is endearingly clueless about the ways of the modern living world (since Soul Society resembles Japan's Edo period). She is initially unable to figure out a simple juice box, and learns to speak modern Japanese through the manga she reads. According to Tite Kubo, when (in book five) the semester final exam scores were announced, Rukia's rank was 302 out of 322. With the exception of Japanese, she failed most of her exams.
Uryu Ishida:
Uryū Ishida is a black-haired, bespectacled teenager of average height. At school, Uryū wears the school uniform along with a tie, while outside he dons white Quincy clothes with blue stripes representing the Quincy cross, and a mantle.
Uryū is generally shy and quiet, but tries harder to act cool when other people are around. For example, during the Soul Society arc he wears a mantle that serves no purpose (actually hindering his movement) for the sole reason that it makes him look cool, and even keeps a spare to that effect. He also has a tendency to say things with characteristic drama.
Orihime Inoue:
Orihime Inoue has long orange-brown hair which she wears with the bangs behind her ears and hairpins. She does not remove her hairpins, except to sleep (she is seen without them in episode 64 when she wakes up), as they are worn in memory of her brother, while her hair is worn long in honor of the promise Tatsuki Arisawa once made to protect her. Her large breasts are occasionally made the subject of jokes in the series. She also has an amazingly hard head, which has injured Uryū, Chad, and Ichigo. Orihime has brown eyes in color pictures of the manga, but gray eyes in the anime.
Chad Sado:
Chad is a teenager of Japanese and Mexican descent. He is extremely tall and appears to be much older than he is. Chad has a tattoo on his left shoulder which reads "Amore e Morte" (love and death in Italian) and consists of a heart, a snake and angel wings around the heart. In the series, he is usually seen wearing either his school uniform or a tee shirt. At one point in the series, he is seen wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt with a rose emblazoned on the left sleeve. The rose may be in honor of his grandfather seeing as how his grandfather's name was Oscar Joaquin de la Rosa, "de la Rosa" being Spanish for "of the Rose".
Renji Abarai:
Renji is one of the more unusual characters in Bleach in terms of his appearance. He has long crimson hair, usually kept in a high ponytail, and his entire upper body is covered in tribal tattoo work. How he got these tattoos is unknown, but it appears that with every achievement Renji attains, his tattoos increase as well, starting from his early days as a shinigami candidate until when he was imprisoned by Byakuya Kuchiki (his tattoos cover his entire back at this point of time). He dresses in the standard shinigami outfit, though he usually includes some sort of elaborate headgear (usually expensive-looking glasses or a white headband). All of Renji's sunglasses are from Seireitei's popular "Silver Dragonfly Glasses Store" and cost half a year's worth of his paycheck. Unfortunately, every time he wears a pair, they are broken in one way or another (usually in a fight with Ichigo).
Byakuya Kuchiki:
Byakuya Kuchiki is the 28th head of the noble Kuchiki clan, one of the four noble families in Soul Society.[1] As such, Byakuya acts in an aristocratic manner — he is always serene and apathetic towards other people. Byakuya wears the standard captain uniform along with a white headpiece called a kenseikan (symbolizing his noble rank as the head of the Kuchiki family) and a white scarf made by the master weaver, Tsujishirō Kuroemon III. The scarf is made from silver-white windflower light silk (ginpaku kazahana no uzuginu) and is a family heirloom handed down through the generations to the head of the Kuchiki family. Ten large houses can be built for the cost of just one such scarf.
Toushiro Hitsugaya:
Tōshirō Hitsugaya is very young by Soul Society standards. He is the youngest in generations to have become a captain and is thus called a "boy genius" by many. He is short (because of his age) and has white hair, which tends to draw attention in the human world. He wears standard captain's clothing without any accessories; however, he is the only shinigami that carries his zanpakutō on his back aside from Ichigo Kurosaki, whose zanpakutō necessitates such a style. Hitsugaya's short stature and the blade's length may explain the similar style. His sheath dissolves whenever he draws his sword.
Sosuke Aizen:
Aizen is a soft-spoken intellectual, accented by glasses during his time as a shinigami captain. While he appears to be very kind to his subordinates, in truth he cares very little for them. According to Aizen himself, he is not bound by morals and will therefore stop at nothing to further his ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it necessary. According to the arrancar, Aizen is fearless, which is why they follow him.
Gin Ichimaru:
Gin is fairly ordinary in terms of clothing, and doesn't wear any unique items. His overall appearance, however, is not as normal: his eyes are constantly slitted (earning him the nickname "foxface"), he is unusually thin, and he bears unusual silver hair which has a purple tint to it in the anime (his name refers to his hair color; gin is Japanese for silver).
Kisuke Urahara:
Kisuke Urahara always wears traditional Japanese wooden sandals and a bucket hat, which has earned him the nickname "sandal-hat" (ゲタ帽子, geta-bōshi?, "Mr. Hat-and-Clogs" in the English version). He is generally a laid-back, jovial fellow, although he can be dead serious when the situation warrants it. Despite his carefree attitude, his speech is always polite, though it is sometimes sarcastic.
Don Kanonji:
Don Kanonji is a popular spirit medium who has a television show called Ghost Bust that, at the time of his introduction, is watched by 25% of Japan's population. He later formed the Karakura Superheroes, which consists of the Kurosaki sisters and the children at the Urahara Shop, to get the show's declining ratings up. The method in which Don Kanonji used to rid ghosts, thinking he was sending spirits to heaven, actually quickly caused those spirits to become hollows. He found this out when he and Ichigo Kurosaki fought a hollow that appeared because of Don Kanonji during a television taping at Karakura Town.
Kon
Kon primarily serves as a comedic foil in the series; when not inhabiting Ichigo's body, his normal plushie body is treated with little respect and much disdain. One of the only people who gives him any respect is Yasutora Sado, who for the most part though just ignores him. His plushie body is the fake copy of the main character of the popular TV show, "Carnivore Kingdom" named "Ponkichi". It was a prize from the shooting game in the Karakura Town Festival. Kon is quite perverted and often takes advantage of his form to get girls to hug him to their chests, which rarely goes as planned. Kon is fond of Rukia, calling her "sister."
Izuru Kira:
Kira has blue eyes, and blond hair worn as such that it covers half of his face. It also extends into two 'horns', although this is something relatively recent. Otherwise, his appearance is fairly ordinary compared to other shinigami. Although it is not explicitly stated in any official record, Kira appears to be left-handed or at least shakes hands with his left. Kira is dedicated to both his friends and his duties, perhaps to the point of fault.
Hanataro Yamada:
Hanatarō is very timid and nervous. His black hair is a bit long and his bangs frame his face. He tends to be clumsy and easily duped. Hanatarō's kind nature and nervousness results him becoming the victim of many bullies and practical jokes. In fact, he states in an omake chapter in volume 13 that he is "the most bullied kid in the world." Hanatarō's birthday is even on April Fools' Day, so people spend the whole day tricking him as a result. While Hanatarō looks like a wimp, he shows on more than one occasion he is courageous and dedicated to what he believes in.
Momo Hinamori:
Hinamori is an upbeat and easygoing girl who gets along with nearly everyone she meets. Hinamori is generally quite trusting, but also very impulsive and naïve. She greatly admires her former captain, Sōsuke Aizen, and is a childhood friend of the 10th Division captain, Tōshirō Hitsugaya. Her appearance is fairly ordinary compared to other shinigami in Soul Society. She wears her hair up in a bun with a cloth wrapped around it. According to Tite Kubo, Hinamori's name was changed at the last minute; she had a completely different name in the sketch stage.
